Legacy and Continuity: The Return of Original Developers for The Witcher 4

As the gaming community eagerly anticipates the release of The Witcher 4, it's fascinating to learn about the talented team behind the game's development. With 2025 approaching, it will signify ten years since the debut of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, a milestone that stirs nostalgia among fans and questions about the legacy of the original development team at CD Projekt Red.

Recent conversations across social media platforms have highlighted on the impressive number of developers involved in this exciting new installment. Responding to a tweet about quest designers gaining insight from the expansion Blood & Wine of The Witcher 3, a co-CEO of CD Projekt Red revealed that many familiar faces are returning for this new project.

Around 100 developers from the original project are still part of the team journeying forward with The Witcher IV. This includes several veterans who played crucial roles in the advancement of both The Witcher 2 and the original title. Their extensive experience is bound to enrich the upcoming game.

During the launch of The Witcher 3, CD Projekt Red had a workforce of over 200 developers. The fact that approximately half of them remain with the company a decade later is a significant achievement. It is essential to mention that some of these 100 professionals may also be involved in other company projects, such as the forthcoming sequel to Cyberpunk 2077.
